Gabriela Trzebinski

Today we were asked to write an essay on the works of our favourite artists that work in the media that we are choosing to specialise in. One of the artists I have chosen to write about is Gabriela Trzebinski as I absolutely adore her work

This particular painting is taken from a collection in Houston, Gabriela Trzebinskis work was exhibited in a group show titled Little Known Facts at the Lawndale Art Center

.
.

I especially love the earthy colours she uses in her paintings and prints and the simplistic forms and subjects.

Introduction
“Yes: I am a dreamer. For a dreamer is one who can only find his way by moonlight, and his punishment is that he sees the dawn before the rest of the world.”
― Oscar WildeThe Critic as Artist

Well at school I was told I was a dreamer and here I am now in my 2nd year of an Art Degree so there must be some truth in that! Although I admit I am not quite as profound as Oscar Wilde I would like to envisage what the future will bring without completely dreaming my way through it and using some of my more creative practical skills to get on in life.
Have you ever wondered what a visionary is? .visionary
ˈvɪʒ(ə)n(ə)ri/

    "a visionary leader"
  2. 2.

    "visionary dreams"
noun
  1. 1.
a person with original ideas about what the future will or could be like.
"he is a visionary keen on policy-making"
A few years ago I took an IQ test, not may I add one downloaded off Facebook or Bebo or that sort of thing but no,actually the real deal!I am not going to disclose to you what the result was,but what I did conceive to be interesting about it was 2 factors:_

1)It says you should not take an IQ test if you are on any kind of ' autistic spectrum' or have learning difficulties such as 'Dyslexia as the results could infact 'brand' you as unintelligent!
CHEEK! Well, I thought this was rather strange ,given the fact that my Grandfather had Dyslexia and was a member of MENSA and also an Oxford graduate and an RAF pilot (and may I add he always said I would be an artist)...so when I decided to decipher the 'intelligence spectrum' Charts. It appears that someone may fall into the 'gifted' and 'extraordinary' and' superhuman' ect. ect. categories but then not be 'too bright' and 'challenged' at certain other things.
I have to say that this completely fascinated me as I have a son on the Autistic spectrum and I swear that he is so unusually gifted at computing that he will probrably be working for NASA one day ,but he is 7 years old and does not know how to string a sentence together. So there you go,You do not actually have to have an overall IQ of 201 to be a raving genius.
Where does being a visionary come into this  I hear you ask,Well the IQ test branded me creatively 'gifted' and a 'visionary' and not too genius at anything else so here I am  and making the most of it ...must run in the family.
